My name is Jason Barnhart. I currently serve as the Director of Brethren Research and Resourcing at the Brethren Church National Office in Ashland, Ohio.
I have over a decade of pastoral experience in congregations in Ohio. I co-edited A Brethren Witness for the 21st Century (2014) and a follow-up primer for that work, A Brethren Witness Primer (2015), targeted toward youth and young adults. I also edited A Brethren Way, which was a re-release of the late Dr. Brian Moore’s book, A Brethren Witness for the 21st Century (2008).
I hold a Master of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary (2008) and a Doctor of Theology from La Salle University (2019). My dissertation was on the third way of J. Allen Miller (1866-1935), Ashland Brethren theologian of the early twentieth century, amid the Fundamentalist-Modernist controversy and how his posture is instructive and constructive for Brethren engagement with American Evangelicalism.
I reside in Ashland with my wife, Allison, our two children, Miles and Clementine, and our miniature dachshund, Golly.
I’m an enneagram 3 and feel like this bio proves such a truth. Please forgive the mindless self-promotion.
