My name’s Jason Barnhart. I currently serve as the Director of Brethren Research and Resourcing at the Brethren Church National Office in Ashland, Ohio.
I have over a decade of pastoral experience in congregations in Ohio. I served for three years (2014-2017) as the University Chaplain of Ashland University in Ashland. I am the co-editor of A Brethren Witness for the 21st Century (2014) and co-edited a primer for the work, A Brethren Witness Primer (2015), for youth and young adults. I’m also the editor of the forthcoming book, A Brethren Vision, which is a re-release of the late Dr. Brian Moore’s book, A Brethren Witness for the 21st Century (2008).
I’m currently finishing doctoral work at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My dissertation is on the third way of J. Allen Miller, Ashland Brethren theologian of the early twentieth century, amid the Fundamentalist-Modernist controversy and how his posture is instructive and constructive for Brethren engagement with American Evangelicalism.
I resides in Ashland with my wife, Allison, and our two children, Miles and Clementine.
I’m an Enneagram 3 and feel like this bio proves such a truth. Please forgive the mindless self-promotion.
